Investigation

The investigating team have no new leads, despite a massive investigation since Mandy's death at the end of April. They have very little to go on at all. Our source quoted Michael Berryman (Superintendent Mick Berryman, the man who has been leading the investigation into the "Strangler" killings) as saying "We have evidence that will identify the killer if we catch him. We have nothing that tells us where to look." Mr Berryman has declined to comment on this.

So what evidence do the police have? Lisa Griffin's handbag was found near her body, with fingerprints that have not yet been identified. Before her death, her daughter Karen began to have nightmares about someone she called "the ugly man": she drew a picture of "the ugly man" and her mother. No one else saw this man.

Our source told us: "All they can be sure about is that he will kill again. They expected him to make another attack in late September. It's December now. It could happen any day."
